Meet Lena

Lena began attending services after her mother Ludmila was reached during Saturday Evangelism. Seen here at McDonald's drinking hot tea after evangelism in sub-zero weather. She had only a nominal encounter with russian Orthodox and through her mother came to Christ at a primitive unregistered baptist church.

Fellowship

Lena (R) sits by deaf Nina during a fellowship. It took many months to show that the fruit of the Spirit includes JOY! Lena, who's about 22, struggled between her previous teachings of traditions keeping her in bondage and what she was learning under our preaching.

Happy Birthday

Lena (far right) joins others at a birthday fellowship for Pastor John & Luda. Seen here with Deaf Nina and her mother Ludmila. As a student at a local college, and attending another church, Lena usually is able to be with us on Sunday nights.

Women's Day

Pastor John presents to Lena a flower as a gift from the church in celebration of International Women's Day. A major european holiday, we wanted to show the praiseworthness of a Godly woman. In a culture where women are looked down upon - especially in churches - we sought to exalt God's creation of the woman and honor them. March 02
