Doctor Boris

Boris is a doctor and came from Russia into Ukraine for medical treatment after a severe injury to his hands. He now works with the city of Kharkov as a coroner. He began taking chronological Bible lessons 2x-3x each week, hungrily studying the scriptures. Eventually he was brought low under conviction and accepted Christ. Aug 2001

Quiet Learner

Boris eventually earned the nickname "Rolex" for his punctuality to services & Bible studies. Boris has become a strong supporter of his preacher, practicing newly learned scriptures in his life: 1Thess 4:11 "And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business..."

Learning again

Boris had the obligatory Russian Orthodox background, but was practically agnostic. He graduated from Moscow's premier medical school during the Soviet era but never embraced it's atheistic evolutionary philosophy. Studying the Bible chronologically, Boris often exasperatedly said "How is it that I was so ignorant of this?!?!?!"

Backrow Baptist

Boris' favorite place in church. In church we say "Never get so sick that you must go see Boris!". As city coroner, Boris works late evenings & odd hours responding to the Militia's requests. His close proximity with death was used by God's Spirit to cause Boris to seriously consider his own eternal destination, where he embraced Christ as his personal Saviour.

Hurry Back!

In April when we were forced to leave Kharkov, Boris came with many other church folks to our house for a time of "Good bye's". Boris was heartbroken that his pastor was having to leave, but prayed fervently for our quick return. God honored his prayer and Boris is now continuing the Chronological Bible lessons to grow in his new faith.
